Knowledge base and procedures

How it's done here, written once, findable by anyone, answered by the assistant.

What you lose without it

You answer the same question weekly. The way a job is done leaves with the person who did it. Two staff do the same task two ways and the client notices. Every new starter costs you a week of interruptions.

What it holds

One page per procedure in the order the work happens, checklists for the recurring jobs, the supplier list with terms and contacts, key contacts, the decisions log (what was decided, when, why), and the templates the business sends. Kept short on purpose.

What it reads from

Interviews with you and the team, the documents you already have, and the emails you keep re-sending. Written by Stewart Systems, edited by you.

What the morning check says about it

Little; this is the module the others read from. When a procedure has a review date it shows up like any other date.

Where a wiki stops being enough

When nobody reads it. The Brain stays small and reviewed, and the assistant answers from it, which is the difference between a folder and a system.

What is a Business Brain · Problem: staff keep asking me the same questions
