What goes in a TAS register
The same four groups as anywhere (the business, the people, the plant, the subcontractors or contractors), with TAS's own authorities and cycles on each row:
- Liquor and gaming: Liquor and Gaming Branch, Department of Treasury and Finance (RSA required).
- Food safety: Councils under the Food Act; check current food safety supervisor requirements for your business type.
- Working with children: Registration to Work with Vulnerable People, five years.
- Trade and construction licensing: Consumer, Building and Occupational Services (CBOS) licences for builders, plumbers and electricians; WorkSafe Tasmania high risk work licences.
- Work health and safety, workers compensation: WorkSafe Tasmania; workers compensation through licensed insurers.
National items are the same in every state: AHPRA registration for health practitioners, Tax Practitioners Board registration for tax and BAS agents, AMSA certificates for commercial vessels, ABN and ASIC business name renewals, first aid and CPR cycles, and the annual Modern Award rate change on 1 July.
How it works from Tasmania
Free 30-minute Snapshot on a video call, then a one-page map within 48 hours. Fixed prices agreed in writing. The register is built in your own account, the team is walked through on a shared screen, and you keep everything. The Register is usually live within about two weeks of receiving documents.

Regulator names and renewal cycles above are a starting map, not advice; they change, so the register records the date from the document in your hand and links to the authority for the current rule.
