Class fill rate by time slot: the numbers behind a timetable change

Which classes are full, which are half empty, what each slot costs in instructor time, and how a studio decides what to add, move or cut from the data in its booking software.

Short answer: fill rate by class and time slot over eight weeks, next to instructor cost per class, tells you what to cut, move or add. Most studios carry two or three slots that lose money every week out of habit.

The table

Class, day, time, instructor, capacity, average attendance, fill rate, waitlist frequency, instructor cost, revenue per class at the average membership yield. Sorted by fill rate.

The decisions

Waitlisted slots: add a class either side. Under 40 percent for eight weeks: move or cut. A new instructor's slot: give it twelve weeks and a push, then judge.
