Rostering a venue against RSA, first aid and the Award without a spreadsheet war

How a small venue checks each week's roster against RSA and RCG cards, first aiders on shift and Award rules before publishing it, using the roster tool it already has and a register beside it.

Short answer: the roster tool (Deputy, Tanda, a Sheet) knows hours and rates; the register knows cards and certificates. A weekly check before publishing joins them: anyone on bar without a current RSA, any shift without a first aider, and any Award breach the roster tool flags.

What the check catches

A casual whose RSA expired last month rostered on Saturday night. A Sunday brunch with no first aider. A 15-year-old rostered past the hours allowed. Split shifts that trigger penalties nobody priced.

The workflow

Draft the roster in your tool; export; the check runs against the register and the Award rules you set; a short list comes back; fix; publish. Two minutes on Thursday instead of an inspector's visit.
